IF NOT...I would suggest hiring some help...it's not a fun project solo when you HAVE done it repeatdly... So...to disable the DCH : Ld 96 DIS DCH XX (in your case 6) This will bring them down, and not allow taffic to cross them....making it easier (and safer) to shut down... BUT Remember: BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP!!!! __________________ You can't wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you - Look, if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor, just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

However, I think the person asking all of these questions better call his vendor for help here. Not putting him/her down, but I think a little more experience i.e. shadowing a Tech who has done it, is called for here. Teaching someone how to backup the voice mail system on here, is something their Vendor should have showed them how to do OR this customer should have purchased what we call "Maintenance" from their Vendor, don't u think?

I moved one not too long ago and spent about 3 hours on the phone arguing with the T1 provider that their configuration was wrong. If you are not familiar with the pbx, T1's, terminology, and all the other stuff that go with it, a pbx move is not the way to learn. If your still going to do it yourself, remember: Quote:

If you have one T-1 our a full DS3, that's 28 T-1's for you newbies, call your carrier. If you dont and you do this on let's say a Friday night the Central Office will see the spans drop and they may not try to contact you till Monday morning. They will put a looping plug on thier end to clear the alarms on thier end. You will try to turn your T's back up and you will not be able to. When you call and tell your carrier to let them know of your plan, give them a cell phone number that they can call if they have to. Good luck. (B.T.W. yes I did learn my lesson the hard way)

Location: The other side of the Lake from work Rep Power: 12 ![]() | Teaching Cannibals a Lesson!!! Which is why, Sully, John et al, I stated things the way I have. I have no issue explaining things, and at one point I think I even wrote a disclaimer for something like this: "we on PBXINFO.com are merely offering advice, and can not be held resonsible for damage and or outages to your system for following any advice given with out sufficent knowledge/back up plans in place" Ash, if you feel certain you can do this on your own, the by all means, ask us what you need to....BUT, as we've all said in one way or another...if you've NEVER done this, now is NOT the time to play alone...the exception to this rule? if the system your working on is NOT a live system and does not need to go live in a hurry..then it's good practice. Me? I've done several (doz) moves on systems like yours...HOWEVER the firs 5moves were with a highly experience tech standing over my shoulder. Mistakes can be made by anyone, but when BIG mistakes are made, they're costly.... (Ok..enough rambling...) Ask away and we'll do what we can, but HIGHLY suggest a tech as a back up. Location: San Clemente, CA Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thanks for all your help! This shutdown/power-up is due to the owner of our building doing some tenant T.I. work. The owner has a telecom MGR. for his company in our building but I dont think he'll do what is necessary for a proper shutdown. I have talked to another company who has been forced to move equipment and they were able to force the owner to pay for the move by "Professionals". I am going to try that route today. Once again thanks for your help!
