CCBR Issues

Hey Everybody,

This is what I am trying to do:

When someone calls a particular number, they hear a recorded message and then the call gets disconnected. (Seems fairly simple)

I thought about simply setting up a voice mail box, but the customer does NOT want them to have the option of leaving a message. I set up a test ACD with a FRRT, but when I dial the ACD all I get is endless ringing if no one is logged in (the test RAN never kicked in).

Plus, I don't even know what the RAN message is. I thought it was like a music route, so I dialed the ACOD, but I got a busy signal. (what's up with that?) If I dial access codes to our music routes I hear music.

Anyway, if someone out there can point me in the right direction, that would be awesome.

Thanks,

Adding COT's

Panchanka -

Not sure which VM system you have. I have Centigram and I can create a "Greeting Only" mailbox. I think MerMail also allows for this type of mailbox...

What Device provides your Ran's? A Miran or Interalia XMU?

FRRT will not work unless someone is logged in - otherwise your NCFW takes affect..

Change the TGAR of your Maint set to 0 to dial the ACOD's.

If you have Meridian Mail, you can use an Annoucement. This will do exactly what you are describing.

Pan - I found the MerMail setup - It's as Bruce states:

Announcement Service:
Quote:
Direct access When a caller dials an announcement service directly, the
announcement is played a set number of times, as defined when
creating the announcement. The announcement is followed by a
“Good-bye” prompt before the call is disconnected.
Quote:
Indirect access through a voice menu If a caller accesses an announcement service indirectly through a voice menu, the message is played a set number of times as defined when creating the announcement. After playing the message the call is not disconnected, and the caller remains in the menus.
Quote:
An announcement accessed through a time-of-day controller
will play only at certain times as determined by the time-of-day
controller design.
Quote:
Suppose that when your office is closed, you wish to play an
announcement which states your office hours and encourages
the caller to phone when you are open. To do so, you would
design a time-of-day controller which connects to the
announcement during off-hours.
Quote:
In this case, the announcement service will respond as if the
caller accessed it directly. The announcement will play a set
number of times, as defined when creating the announcement.
The announcement is followed by a “Good-bye” prompt before
the call is disconnected.
Adding a new announcement

Quote:
1 Select Announcement Definitions.
Result: The Announcement Definitions screen is displayed.
2 Press the [Add] softkey.
Result: The Add an Announcement Definition screen is
displayed.
3 Fill in the fields using the information recorded on your
announcements worksheet. Keep in mind that the Revert DN
field and the password fields are optional and can be left blank.
4 If you are satisfied with the information you have entered, press
the [Save] softkey. Otherwise, press [Cancel] to discard the
announcement.
Result: Whether you save or cancel, you are returned to the
Announcement Definition screen.

The following fields appear in the Add an Announcement
Definition screen.
Quote:
Announcement ID:

Description The Announcement ID must be a unique number.
On a multi-customer system, the ID only needs to
be unique in the customer group
.
Quote:
Title
Description The announcement Title should indicate what the
announcement does. For example, an
announcement related to current printer status
might be called “Printer Hotline.”
Quote:
Revert DN
Description The DN to which callers are transferred under
particular circumstances.
Quote:
Access Password
Description The access password restricts access to the
announcement. This field should be left blank if
you want to make the announcement accessible to
all users.
Quote:
Update Password
Description The Update Password allows you to update the
announcement from a remote location using the
Voice Prompt Maintenance Service.

Quote:
Silent disconnect after direct access
Description If this field is set to Yes, the announcement
terminates without playing the system “Good-bye”
prompt.
Quote:
Number of times to play if accessed directly
Description This field applies only to direct-access
announcements. This field specifies the number of
times an announcement will play before the caller
is disconnected.
Quote:
Number of times to play if accessed via a menu
Description This field applies only to announcements accessed
through a voice menu. This field specifies the
number of times an announcement will play
before the caller is returned to the voice menu.
Quote:
Announcement Recorded (Voice)
Description This read-only field shows if the announcement
has been recorded. No means the announcement
has not been recorded.
Quote:
Language for prompts
Description If more than one language is installed, this field
displays the language for the announcement
prompts.

Like C&B,

Not sure what you have but couldn't you use the RAN as the NRRT?

Jack - That's freaking genius - I have symposium, so I only use ACD as a backup to my CDN's. Never noticed the NRRT...Learn something new everyday.

Wow!!! That is great information.
I am running Meridian Mail 13, and an old Interailia (that I have never touched).
I think Chas's idea is the easiest to implement with the Announcement definition. However, I was poking around and I could not find it.
I have User Administration followed by General Administratrion and Voice Administration with a couple of others options. but no where do I see Announcement Definition.

I also did a quick search of my MM documents for anouncement definitions and found squat. Does anyone know how I get to Select Announcement Definitions

In regards to ACOD to the RAN Route, my TGAR is set to 0, but it doesn't work, I am assuming the interailia is either not connected to the PBX or not running properly.

Thanks for the help, I will look into Announcement Definitions some more tomorrow.
