Good Day All,

I have a weird situation with a phone extension. First off, I have an Option 61C. When i print out the DNB in LD 20, it doesn't show a TN for the extension. I am now at a point where i need to create a phone using the extension. I am not sure what is going on here. What i think is happenening is that there is a Voice Mail account setup for the extension and that is what is giving me the weirdness. The voice Mail account has voice mails that are needed. Any light that can be shined on this issue is greatly appreciated. Here is the print out.

Weird Phone extension???

The DN is assigned to an ACD. ACD groups do not have TNs - only their members do.

Since you say this number has a VM box attached to it someone used an ACD entry to create a phantom mailbox - an extension that has VM without an associated TN.

Print out the ACD info on this ACDN and I bet the NCFW prompt will have your VM pilot number.

Go to LD 23 &

PRT
ACD
ACDN = 2011

This will print out the q and assist you in determining how where this is being used.

Just curious what happens when you dial 2011?

HOLD IT!!!!!!

Before you Out that ACD, you'll want to find out WHY it's built as an ACD to your VM...(NCFW =night call forward)

It would appear that this may be a night time auto attendent, or perhaps a back door to the VM from the outside world...
You'll want to track down what number(s) (DIDs, Extensions etc) hit that que before moving forward...

Once you've found it all, rather than out the ACD, why not just change the number (if you truely need the ext. it's currently using)

How would i go about changing the DN? I know that this phone use to go to an employee here. The extension use to ring in his office. He had to leave for a while and somehow however it was setup before it is no longer setup that way now. Also, now that he is back he wants the same number. I do know if you call his old number it rings to his old voicemail account. I know if i call it from the outside world it goes directly into his voicemail.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

When this employee left this office, was he still retrieving his messages? Check your voicemail for a mailbox or voice service dn (meridian mail?) that matches that number. If there is a mailbox, you might be able to trace it further if there was a name associated to it.

Ah HA! I was close....it looks as if it was set up for this bloke as a VM Only extension. (meaning, it dropped straight into VM instead of ringing a phone set)

So...that explains WHAT it is....so with that knowledge, you should be able to OUT that ACDN and reutilze it as his ext. (I'd leave the VM side alone, in case he's got stored messages etc.)

Post if you have further questions or need me to clarify WHY it was set up this way.
Cheers
