Hello, I have a need to change the both passwords on our Option 51. I have the current level 1 and level 2 passwords and plan to change them. I realize I need to goto load 17 and chg type pwd but in the NTP it says I will be prompted for the LAPW password to be changed.

Assuming all is well when I do this what will be the response?

Reg: chg
Type: pwd
-pwd2 (Is this the current level 2 password)
-npw1 (Is this the new level 1 password?)
-npw2 (is this the new level 2 password?)

Are these the only promts I care about and hit enter at the rest? For this system we do not have logi name, just logi enter then password.

Now we are going to go into never never land.

The switch was maintaned by Bell Canada 2 years ago...Company cheaped out and ended the maintenance. Time goes by and the need to change the passwords arrises. I thought I knew how, had I been provided with the correct level 2 password. Well it does not work. This company has no authorised Nortel support, Bell has no record of the maintenance contract, they now have no level 2 password.

Does any one know a Nortel rep willing to do a password recovery in the Toronto, Ontario area? PM if you do not want to post.

I know it is taboo to ask, not sure why password recovery is a big deal...
