Assign a TTY Port

I have an opt11C on 25.3 that currently has 1 TMDI card and 1 DCH. I'm looking to add another TMDI and another DCH however in the SLT I notice that the TMDI D-CHANNELS field shows that I have 0 left with 1 used.

In my other 11Cs the number of TMDI D-CHANNELS listed in the SLT seems to follow the number of TMDI cards that are installed regardless of how many DCHs I'm using.

Do I need to get software to go along with the new TMDI card or is it PNP? I know TMDI cards are considered and most recommend the DTIs with the DCH daughterboard but the customer already has the TMDI card and isn't in a postion to spend any $$$$.

Thanks,

Tim

TMDI D-channels are a key-coded parameter. Now, I think I remember seeining something that the DCH licensing for TMDI was changed after 25.30 was released (and before 25.40), and that a keycode could be installed on your 25.30 system to give you 64 TMDI DCH channels.

This is standard with 25.40.

Yep, all of my 25.40 11Cs have 64 TMDI D-channels.

My 25.30s have pretty much whatever they ordered with them, I would love to get a gun point explantion of the thought process behind ordering 1 TMDI D-channel on a switch they knew they were going to expand in the future. Then ordering 5 for a single cabinet site with 50 phones.

Thanks for the help. We'll be looking into the keycode thing once the dust settles.

I beleive the cost for an additional D-Channel is no/charge item from Nortel. You may however be subject to the software reproduction fee.

You can no longer upgrade to 25.40B which would have given you the full 64 Channels.

Wait until you see how much it's going to cost you to go to the new CSE 3.0 software, provided you are not on the Upgrade Express Program.

Shouldn't be a problem. This is all fed-gov stuff and they recently upgraded to 90's technology from 1A2 or something similiar so they're set to go for at least another 30 years.
