Hi all,

My company installed Callpilot 2.0 in February of this year. We actually did a complete system change from a Rolm RIP and an older VMX(Octel) voicemail. We also added SECS to the line up. Overall everythings working great with only a few minor learning curves....Damn OTM!!! my boss thought if there was a graphical user interface he would do some programming...I wont let him touch it!!!

Nevermind OTM...its Callpilot Im interested in. Particularly the Desktop client for Outlook. Overall....not bad. But some really annoying bugs. Ive brought these up to my vendor but they just keep telling me a patch will be available one day

1) When composing a new email. Most people prefer, and are used to being able to type the persons name in the to: feild. and have it automatically search the Global address book. Without Callpilot installed if you spell the name incorrectly it will underline it with a red sgwiggley.....

You fix it...it finds it.

With Desktop 2.02 Client If you're off by a letter or you mix a couple up....it skips the Global because its not there...but in the callpilot....IT FIXES YOUR MISTAKE and puts the correct name there. OPPS...now your accidently sending a text message to someones telephone who doesnt have the client installed or have fax capability. Big trouble if not everyone on your network uses desktop messaging. especially your spiteful MAC users...lol

Easily remedied by removing Callpilot Address Book from search sequence in the Adress book options menu....but there shouldnt be a need...who is the bright guy who came up with that? Anyone know if you can turn "THE AUTO FIX NAME FEATURE" thats apparently inherent?

2) Client work great with Win98 SE and Win2000Pro, but Ive succesfully bombed every XP box I've loaded it on. What gives? I remove it, we're back to normal? Is there a PEP my vendor is holding back? Has anyone had it working with XP? Im stumped

3)I get constant complaints from users that everytime they log in their messages start playing at 9 or 10...or another orbitrary number. Even though they insist the delete their message. Which Im inclined to believe because when a mailbox is full it shuts down.

Well thats it for now....any comments, help, or additional grievances please feel free to join in!

Well doesnt seem too many people want to jump in and volenteer Callpilot issue....am I the only one using 2.02

Another downfall I forgot to mention....Broadcast messaging. I send one my voicemail and auto-attendants are inaccessible for up to 20minutes to do the burst of CPU activity!

I create a SDL and add everyone to it I get the same result of the broadcast without stalling the system....go figure.

C'mon Nortel lets get some peps out please
