I have received a couple of complaints from users saying that there are times when their TRANSFER button is not visible for use. They can see/use it with no problem if a call comes directly to them, but if they cover for another person and the call came to them on a hunt or fdn, the TRANSFER button does not appear. This only seems to happen in some instances on certain phones. Other users never experience this problem.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Anyone have any ideas what might be the X factor here?

Is the caller on the line alone or are they already conferenced with someone else and trying to contact someone else?

***Option 11 Ethernet Admin Hookup (Nightmare) ***

The situation is: A call (from outside or company extension - doesn't matter) goes to a user's boss. No answer, so it covers to the user. She picks up the call. If asked to transfer to another extension, the TRANSFER button is not visible as one of the bottom 4 buttons under the display as usual.

These are 3904 phones on a 61C switch. No recent changes to the switch programming. We'd had a random report of this happening in the past but thought it was just user error, but now more people seem to be calling about it.

just on a hunch check the firmware rls of the phones in question. I had a similar problem once before. A flashdownload of the most recent firmware version from the switch to those TN's cured it.
