Please help the M.O.D "Banding Together" premie ca

Also, if you have a DNS server you can set all of your supervisors to go to the MAX00 which will translate in to whatever IP you have MAX programmed with. That is what we did and it works wonderfully. We have had to change around our address scheme twice since implementing the DNS solution and it has been such a time saver. Just a side note for future reference.

Hey everyone - it worked like a charm - fortunately, I sent out a mass email to my users and everything worked! Link was really easy to change - if anyone wants the procedure just let me know.

Sorry took so long to respond and thanks for all your help....AS ALWAYS

Raven - Yes, post your exact steps. I collect information like this and turn them into "nice to have" files.

Ok - to change the IP address in Meridian Max:
1. Login and type S to Shutdown the software.
2. Type y to shutdown.
3. Goto main menu and type b to backup.
4. Once Max is backed up, go back to main menu (if not already there).
5. Type c for Configure Meridian Max.
6. Type m for Max Hardware Configuration.
7. Select 2 for System Parameters.
8. Arrow down and enter new IP address, new subnet mask, and new gateway.
9. Select option to Save and Exit.
10. Restart Meridian Max.
11. Once it has been restarted go back into System Parameters (view only) to verify that the information is correct.

To change the IP address in Link (only works with 6.42 version)

1. Log into IP or dial into Meridian Link.
2. Log in but do not go into mlusr.

Follow the steps below:

maint> lanconfig

Default gateway is currently configured as: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

If you would like a default gateway IP address configured or changed,
please enter the IP address in Internet dot notation (e.g. 12.34.56.7.
For no change, enter <cr>.xxx.xx.xx.xxx (enter new address)

Saving default gateway address: xxx.xx.xx.xxx.

Subnet Mask is currently configured as: xxx.xxx.xxx.x

If you would like a default subnet mask configured or changed,
please enter the subnet mask (e.g. 100.100.0.0).
For no change, enter <cr>. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (enter new subnet)

Saving default subnet mask : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

ADD MODULE NAME AND ADDRESS TO TCPIP TRANSPORT PROVIDER DATABASE

If you are not sure how to answer any prompt, type "?" for HELP.

Your module is already specified in the transport provider database:
Its module name: link. Its IP address: xxx.xxx.xx.x

Would you like to change them? [y, n] xxx.xx.xx.xxx
Type y for yes, n for no.

Would you like to change them? [y, n] y

Enter the MODULE NAME to be added to the tcpip transport
provider database [?, or module name]: link

Enter the MODULE ADDRESS to be added to the tcpip transport
provider database [?, or module address]: xxx.xx.xx.xxx (enter new address)

If you made any mistakes in entering the module name and IP address,
you can correct them. Would you like to re-enter the module name or
IP address? [y, n]

rebooted 23:16 CENTRAL TIME

Of course all the xxx indicate new IP addresses, subnet mask and gateway. Thanks!

Some basic commands...

I am helping out a friend on his Nortel. I saw the 983/22 VM backup command.

How about backup of system utilities and settings...

Not finding even the most basic command help online, except for marketing tools, (It can do this!, but not how to make it do the task).

Regards,

Dogwin
