Thanks for all the suggestions - would you believe

I know there is something probably very basic I am overlooking but here goes (I'm still very new to this stuff- sorry

I have a 61C, Rls. 24, V.25.

There are 2 MCR groups, both prior ACD groups that the clients no longer wanted. Each MCR group rings on 10 to 11 users phones. WPCarey has 3 POTs on Centrex lines in a hunt group, one of which also has an 800 # pointing to it - each of the 3 TNs has the ATDN with the MCR extension with internal routing table positions. Winthrop's number is pointing to an internal MCR DN.

My problem is if a user is on a WPCarey call, the next call will roll over to the Winthrop line - not always on the same user's phone.

I have talked to our local carrier and they said that if the hunt feature is taken off on the CO side, the 4th incoming call to WPCarey will get a busy signal - which is a no-go.

I am posting the RDB, TN info of one of the WPCarey positions on the Centrex lines, TNs of all users phones with WPCarey and the TN detail of a WPCarey user.

What should I look for? Am pulling my hair out on this one! And no, we do not want to go back to ACD groups.

Any ideas would be greatful -

Laura

Laura,

First off, do you have DID numbers in your network?

If so, please repoint your toll free numbers to them.

Old COT with hunt patterns will drive us all crazy =-\

After that, your can isolate them much more effectively.

We could probably band aid your current situation, but it
has a problem at the design level and will continue to cause
you problems in the future.

Thanks,
Mike

"Beep, Beep" during conference calls

Mike,

Thanks for the info - yes, we definitely have DIDs. I would love to use those instead, however, this particular client has both the POT main number and the 800 number given out to all their clients (large investment firm) that they do not want to change. Therefore, between the grandfathered SL1 to a 61C combo PBX with no maintenance agreement with a vendor, I'm becoming well-versed in band-aids Any other ideas? I will see at least about getting the 800 number pointed to a DID.

800 numbers do not have to change to change LD carriers. If your current 800 company doesn't want to point it to a different number, take your business elsewhere.

You can save money if you already have a dedicated T1 for outgoing LD by having your incoming 800s on the same span. Then you can use DNIS and IDC and point your numbers anywhere in your switch. Plus, your LD company should cut you a break on your per-minute 800 charges if you do this.
