ISDN BRI Config

Dear all,

We are currently looking at setting up ISDN BRI on an Option 11c system (Small System), this will be configured to go through a VSAT terminal and provide VOIP for the remote end.

We were now wondering what we require; below are our concerns:

a) Our ISDN PRI configs are normally Euro ISDN
b) Would we be doing ISDN BRI Line access or Packet Data Transmission or Trunk Access?
c) What would be the required hardware :
SILC or UILC or the MISP Circuit Card?
d) Is the MISP a seperate card on its own (aside from the SILC or UILC?)
e) Any licensing requirements we would need?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Rgds,

mkeiwua

mkeiwua,
you need to set up as ETSI QSIG.
In LD 16 whenb configuring the route you need to respond to prompts as follows

TKPT tie
DTRK yes
BRIP <c/r>
DGTP bri
IFC esig

In LD 27 when you come to program the DSL set the following
APPL brie

NOTE you will need a MISP card and a SILC card

Hope this helps

thanks steve for the prompt reply...

I gather there are no BRI Licenses to be acquired?

What connectivity options will we be looking at from the VSAT terminal?

Rgds,

Moshe

Moshe,
i haven't configured to work off of VSAT so can't give you and heads up on that one but before you go any further check you have these packages - else you won't be able to configure BRI.
You need these packages for BRI when runing trunk side applications:
75 (PBXI)
216 (ISDN BRI)
203 (XPE)
154 (Only for Packet data) so you won't necessarily need this
233 (ISDN BRI Trunk)
261 (EuroISDN) although not needed you will get this as part of the PRI package.
263 (QSIG)

To list the packages LD 22
REQ prt
TYPE pkg

This prints every package on your system. Without these you won't be able to configure BRI trunks.

To see what licences you have you will need to LD 27. this gives the following output example...As you can see from the last line BRI DSL AVAIL: 9996 USED: 4 TOT: 10000 confirms that you would have the licence/package (or not).
>ld 27
BRI000
MEM AVAIL: (U/P): 23384871 USED U P: 4941981 230456 TOT: 28557308
DISK SPACE NEEDED: 354 KBYTES
2MB BACKUP DISKETTE(S) NEEDED: 1 (PROJECTED LD43 - BKO)
TNS AVAIL: 31618 USED: 1142 TOT: 32760
LTID AVAIL: 32760 USED: 0 TOT: 32760
BRI DSL AVAIL: 9996 USED: 4 TOT: 10000
