Network CLID

have cisco and avaya connected to the nortel switch by 2Mb trunk.
scenario is when cisco user calling nortel, display on phone show extension (eg. 7601) and name.
avaya user calling nortel, showing H76xx and name...
anyway to get rid of the "H" ?
thx

That might best be answered in the Avaya section. The "H" is being passed from that switch to your Nortel. Does your Nortel's name field get read by your cisco and avaya switches, going the other way?

Maybe capture the configuration of the route from the Nortel side and also from the other switch side. There may be a difference to be tweaked.

The "H" is actually being applied by the Nortel and signifies a networked call.
There is a PlugIn (EMEA term) that addresses this. You can contact your vendor to activate the PlugIn and get the "H" removed.

I think there is a Patch available for thei s North America as well, don't have the number handy.

the funny thing is the "H" only appear for call from avaya to nortel... no problem at all for call from cisco to nortel...

Depends on the dialplan and the TON/ANPI settings of the inbound call.

The Cisco probably is an UNK/UNK call type, where the Avaya (being a company that actually understands telephony) set those information elements on the PRI properly.

Trace an inbound DCH message from each and I guarantee you will see a difference.
