Location: Far away Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Automatic Set Relocation is initiated as follows - l Lift the handset. 2 Enter the relocation code, either SPRE 81 or the Flexible Feature code. 3 Enter the security code, if required. The default is 0000. 4 Enter the four-digit code to identify your telephone. A tone confirms the telephone is ready to be moved. 5 Unplug the telephone and install it at the new location. 6 Wait 30 seconds after installing then lift the handset and dial the four digit identifier. A tone confirms the telephone has been moved. Modular Telephone Relocation is slightly different to the above - 1 Lift the handset or activate handsfree. 2 Enter the relocation code, either SPRE 81 or the Flexible Feature Code. 3 Enter the security code, if required. 4 A two-second tone burst confirms that the telephone is relocated out. 5 Unplug the telephone and install it at the new location. 6 The confirmation buzz through the telephone's loudspeaker indicates the telephone is in service. NOTE All calls associated with the telephone receive force disconnect whilst it is relocated out. The telephone information automatically moves to the relocation table. welcome back.. Seems moving a jumper or using the mov command is just plain cleaner (although I NEVER use the mov command). Jack ps TP I'm not THAT old

MAT/OTM will not know what to do with the record of the set at the old TN and will not create a new record of it at the new TN. You will have to delete the set from MAT/OTM and then do a retrieve or a reconcile in order for the set to be correctly reflected in MAT/OTM's station manager. Plus, although this may seem obvious it is worth mentioning just in case, ASR works only with phones on the same switch (Duh!). It will NOT work between networked switches or similar ilk. Try working in a jail where the key control officer has decided that the keys for the 1st floor IDF belong on the 4th floor sergeants ring and the keys to the 4th floor switch room belong on the basement prowler set and no two key sets shall be carried together by the already overworked deputy assigned to escort you through out the place. I really don’t condone the usage of this feature outside of our jail facilities because rumor has it from our engineering staff that it can cause corruption. I have been out on several trouble calls where our MAC techs have managed to get a set stuck in ASR that won’t come back down, usually I can remove it in LD50 but there have been a few isolated incidents where the switch had to be INIed to get the set unstuck. I won’t go into the headaches of getting permission and gaining access to a jail a o-dark hundred to INI an 81C that supports multiple 24/7 jails and Sheriffs headquarters buildings. -T

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Back when ASR was first introduced I had a few customers that were very good at using it. They would relocate entire floors and just call in for miscell. stuff. It can cause a problem w/ OTM and Avotus ( Switchview ). I've showed the process to people that AWAYS screwed it up no matter how easy I laid it out for them while other didn't have a problem with 50 to 100 phone moves. the biggest problem i see is that users of ASR try to move a large number of sets at one time. it should be broken down into small group.
