Am told that it is not possible to co-exist Meridian & Symposium Link? Anybody got any experience of this? Have to migrate to Symposium Link (for Genesys) but not sure of best way to get there. Also, anybody got any info on how to configure switch to use Symposium Link?

As far as the first question - no experience, but I don't see where the two links would conflict unless the Device numbers were the same...

As far as creating your ELAN (Symposium and Meridian Link):

To install the ELAN, follow these steps:

1 Connect all ELAN network cables from Nortel equipment to
the Ethernet hub:
A. Two M1 cables from core 0 and core 1 (only one
cable from Option 11 type switch)
B. ELAN cable from server
C. (optional) ELAN cable to a MAT PC
D. (optional) ELAN cable to customer WAN router

2 Plug in the power cord for the hub. Ensure the hub is
powered on.

Server Side Installation:

1. Connect the 10BaseT cable (From the Meridian AML) to the RJ45 jack on the back side of the server.
2. COM Port 1 is used for a Modem
3. COM Port 2 is used for the link to Meridian Mail
4. A network card will be installed and used for the CLAN.

Meridian Side Installation:

1. Install a cable from the M1 Core (I'm using Jack 23 on the Backplane)
2. Connect the Core cable to a Ethernet Transceiver/MAU
3. The other end of the RJ45 on the Server.

Meridian Side Programming:

A. Determine Card - You can use an MSDL card or a QPC513 SDI card.
Once you have to card type - Set your Ports up. Also determine your Device number..

Program your AML

>LD 17
REQ CHG
TYPE ADAN Enter ADAN to create a new AML.
ADAN NEW AML 0-15
Enter NEW AML followed by a device number to
create a new application module link.
CTYP aaa Specify the I/O port card type.
USER aaa Specify the user of the Port.
CUST 0
Several other prompts will follow --- View Book 1 of 2.

That should do it.......

You can shoot me a PM if you have any questions..........
