meridian mail greeting

Ok here is what i have done so far. I AM A newbie with this system.....

needed to switch 2 phones....one model 500 one 2616. Tried to move the one phone to an available TN but it would nto let me. Said TN does not exist...

So somehow both phones are gone out of the system....so i thought i would just add new ones. I am using Nortel MAT software to do all this.

I got to add the phone and put in the info and it says TN does not exist....even thought that is where it was earlier.

So i went and logged into system and did a
LD 10
new
2616
tn= x x x x

it comes back and says it is invalid....

can anyone help me please.

First LD 10 is for 500 sets, modems ect.
To add a new phone in LD 10 you can do this:

LD 10
req: luvu
type: 500
(just hit enter, it will list what you have avalible) for TN's

For a 2616, 2216 do the same but in LD 11

Post back if you have more questions.

Ring Down phone point to a VDN

Phones shouldn't just disappear, go to LD 22 and prt, DNB fot the 2 phones your trying to move to see where they are now. Are you on site? if so just move the cross connects.

strange voice mail problem

Rule # 1,don't do moves in MAT and I prefer not to do them in the switch also.Go ijn and deletre it all the way out and reinstall.I have ran across this in MAT.If you can find it in the switch as being a vald phone go into Mat a do a retrieve.
Always do all changes and such in MAT if at all possible.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks

Yea i am learning the hard way today. The phones did not disappear one is digital one is analog and the TN # are not available to swap them. So MAT deleted them.

Any other software work better?>

I don't care what anyone says, I still perfer the old fashion way. I log into the switch to make all my changes or I move the cross connects. (To old to change)

MAT, OTM just another thing that can go wrong.

Symposium Scripting

Do all changes you want ( I do) the old way.
But be sure to sync PBX database with MAT after you are done. Otherwise bad things, very bad things!

Thats what I do, I just use the MAT as a backup device incase the switch crashes and I hane to rebuild it.

buliding MOH - RTMB

Uninstall MAT NOW!!!!!!

Yep, the command line is difficult to learn at first, but....

How many hours do you spend trying to keep this end of life product going?

If you must avoid the the CLI at least upgrade to OTM.

Good luck!
