Location: Point Pleasant, NJ Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I bought a M1 Opt11c, im trying to hyperterm to it so i can program it. I have the 3 port cable that came with it that im assuming connects to the SDI port underneith. the cable labeled port 0 has a db25 to rj45 on it and port 2 has a modem eliminator on it. i have a "null" configured rj45 to db9f connector that i have connected to my pc (com 2) and have tried to hyperterm to it using a patch and crossover cable. I have yet to sucessfully connect to it. Someone please tell me what im doing wrong, I have never used an M1 before and bought it to basically tech myself and use it in my home.. (its over kill i know but im a phone nut) i also have a bd9f to db25m connector if that would help anything. if someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. thanks henry.meehan@me.com

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Lets do it together. Assuming The PBX is powered ON Grab the cable TTY 0 (or it may say PORT 0 (25 Pin connector)) Connect your Nortel NULL modem to that cable. (25 PIN connector) Now connect a cable to the other end of the NULL modem and then connect the other end to your computers Com 1. (generally a 9 pin connector) Once all of that is connected. Switch your PC on. Log in to windows. Open Hypterminal. It will ask for a new Connection Name. Type in PBX Click OK A new window will appear. At the bottom of this window, it says "Connect using" Click on the drop down box and select COM 1 All other boxes on this window should now be greyed out. Click OK A New window will appear. At the top it says "BITS PER SECOND" select 9600 The next drop down box is labeled "DATA BITS" select 8 from the drop down box The next drop down box is labeled "PARITY" select NONE from the drop down box The next drop down box is labeled "STOP BITS" select 1 from the drop down box The next drop down box is labeled "FLOW CONTROL" select HARDWARE from the drop down box Click OK Hit enter. Do you get TEXT back? if not double check your cables.

Location: Point Pleasant, NJ Rep Power: 0 ![]() | i tried a db25 to db9 cable connected to the modem eliminator to port 0 and tried it, and still got nothing. i have 1 phone connected to the pbx and when i hit the program button i get options for language, contrast, ect. so i know it works that far.. i dont know what else to do. i wish some one could come and show me what im doing wrong.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | have you tried without a modem eliminator on, the cable itself maybe nulled already, do you get anything on ur terminal screen at all when pressing enter, if so you may need to change your com port settings, maybe try E-7-1, also make sure that the PABX 3 port cable Aka SDI Cable or Octopus cable properly connected to the PABX. if 0 doesn't work maybe try port 1 or even 2, maybe tty 0 and 1 may be deleted. who knows I'm just throwing out ideas, but unless u can get it working on a serial cable i wouldn't be bothered trying to figure out the pin outs for Ethernet cable because it might be a waste of time. If all else fails perhaps try to use a Tranciever if this system has any configuration at all it might still have the default ELAN IP Address, if this is the case you may be able to RLOGIN into it (Long shot but hey might be worth a try) thats all i can think of at the moment.
