What do your com settings look like? From that print out it seems like you might have echo turned on and that might be messing with the password entry.

RE:

Yes, it looks like echo is on.

What program are you using for Telnet - I'd suggest TeraTermPro. It's free and I use it all the time.

You might try calling Lantronix Tech Support or posting a question on the support page of their website.

BTW, if you're telnetting from a Windows PC you don't need SecureCRT or TeraTerm Pro, just open a command window and type 'telnet <ipaddress> <port>'

When you start Windows Telent, don't give it the IP address of the terminal server. When the MS Telnet prompt comes up, use the command 'unset CRLF' to stop it from sending a CR adn an LF when you hit Enter. Then use the open command to call the terminal server. Below is a sample to talk to a Term Server at 10.10.10.22, using port 2001 which in the Case of our MRV's and Micro-Annexes would translatoe to serial port 1. The annoying part is, not all machines have to use the unset command. Somewhere there has to be documentation on which versions of windows telnet do this and why.
c:\telnet
Welcome to Microsoft Telnet Client
Escape Character is 'CTRL+]'
Microsoft Telnet> unset crlf
Line feed mode - Causes return key to send CR
Microsoft Telnet> open 10.10.10.22 2001

Ok, I missed the problem with TeraTerm. Sounds like you've got a problem with CRLF translation on the Lantronix. Or possibly TeraTerm has the same issue as Windows Telnet. I'd bet on the Lantronix at this point.
