Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Patches Okay, I have a few questions that I am confident someone will be able to clear up. This first is: When the NTP says, "Music source must be compatible with music trunk circuit pack" what does that mean? Could you provide some examples? Next, when looking to configure the conference loops the NTP says that 2 conference loops are required per network group. It follows to say that 1 music trunk per network group, if more than 1 trunk then they must use different routes. I understand the words but am having trouble with the application of the concept. In an already 81C, there are 4 network groups. Group 0 has 2 Conf loops, Group 1 has 2 Conf loops, Group 2 has 5 Conf loops, and Group 3 has 2 Conf loops. Realestate is at a premium for this system. Does a Conf loop have to be totally dedicated to Music? Do the members for this route come from the TN location of the Universal Trunk card? If I am reading things correctly, it looks like I will need a UTC in an Peripheral cabinet associated with each Network group. Isn't that a waste of ports on a card if you are only able to use one trunk? I think that I am missing a piece to this puzzle. I want to know how to tell if I need additional equipment in the PBX or if I can recycle what is currently in use. I want to know what Music source is recommended for connection to an 81C. After all of that, what about a 61C with only 2 Conf Loops.... what about that little odd ball the 11C???? Thanks for the hand holding here. I am digging a new hole for myself with MOH and I have never had to deal with this feature in the past. I just want to wrap my brain around this so that I don't cause any costly errors to take place. R, 1) damn near any music source that has an audio out will work, just need to x connect audio out to Univ. Trunk TN, I would avoid using a radio as the FCC doesn't care for that. All the rest) Especially for the 81 you may want to investigate the Music Broadcast Feature, a little pricy but allows a single music source to cross over network groups and avoids most of the issues that you are questioning. As a rule of thumb conference resources are shared regardless of a user pressing the conference key or a route using MOH. For the 61C (& 11C) its only a single network group system so no issues with music "crossing" over groups. Jack __________________ Dogs rollover Phones hunt

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Many ways to say "I love you" Jack: Thanks much! I will look in to the Music Broadcast option. My customer is pretty tight fisted I have a feeling that they will not be interested in purchasing anything new. They are always wanting to recycle what they have or reallocate resources for the moment. I am sure that you know what that is like to engineer. Like I said, I have never played around with this so I am coming at this cold. I want to present options but, I just have the hands on experience to present any. Thanks again for the Broadcast nudge. I will check it out. Rachelle PS - I do appreciate the G rating. It is so gosh darn refreshing. __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club. :bow2: :bow2: :bow2:
