Thumbs up Changing Protocols?

We have (5) Option 11 C Switches w/Rls 22.16 and 4 of the 5 switches are using "ESS5" Protocol and the remaining switch is set at "NI2".

Is there any reason why all 5 switches couldn't be set to "NI2", as long as I had our carrier to configure the PRI to accept that Protocol?

Thank You

As long as you have that option (291) in your software, I would think you are ok...which begs the question: If your circuits are sitting fat and happy right now...why change them?

If you have need to change them, I would start with the least used circuit and use that as my testing ground. If you have spare equipment (card slots, cards and csu), all the better.

We are changing out our phone equipment, however, are leaving the analog sets in place with a T1 connecting them to the new switch and it needs to be of the NI2 protocol to work with the other switch for signaling.
