Is it possible in the PBX? My background is DMS 100/250 and it's possible in those. Just wondering if I can do it in my 61C

Thanks!

Creating a Quiet Term number

You can configure test lines in the Customer Data Block (LD 15), there is a gate opener for test lines. You can configure a T100 test line that is a combo silent term, 1004 milliwat test tone, 5 seconds on/off.

Are you setting up automatice trunk testing from a DMS to the M1, or do you just want a silent term to dial from a station?

Sorry Jack, I did'nt actually answer your question. Silent term provides a termination for which noise levels can be tested. I have not used for years, have not had to worry much with digital trunks. Used to be quite common to dial a silent term with measure noise levels. Milliwat which is typically a 1004hz tone, allows you to measure levels (for loss or gain) on trunks. Another test trunk is looparound, this does what it infers, when dialed, it will allow you to test round trip whatever you are transmitting into it.

Rhack,

Thanks a bunch for the explanation, I also haven't seen one of these used in so long I completely forgot about 'em.

I THOUGHT ALL THOSE TEST LINES WERE FOR OUTCALL TESTING, LIKE THE MILLWATT AND QUIET TERM IN THE CENTRAL OFFICE

Sorry for the delayed response..been out of town.
I'm actually looking to set one up from a station. Just a silent termination. No tone.

Thanks!
