I'm trying to connect a Meridian 1 Opc. 11 ( 2MB PRI card ) and a Avaya G3r (DS1 2Mb) but I can't established a call.
I configured the M1 as user , protocol SL1 and the g3r as Net protocol version 1b.
The d-channel is in service and the trunks are in service too.
When I try to make a call, it's rejected.

Thanks for helps!

strange voice mail problem

BUG1369
Loop # out-of-range in BCH_TO_TN.?

not sure why that is coming up, one question though, have you set up your LPTI in LD 73? Also check the MFF prompt to see if it is set for AFF or CRC.

Nars/Bars question.

You absolutely positively cannot use SL1 protocol when connecting to a Non-SL1. SL1 is a proprietary Nortel Protocol. You would probably want to try using NI-2, QSIg if you've got it.

This BUG
BUG1369
Loop # out-of-range in BCH_TO_TN.?

Is pretty common with wrong protocols. It is saying, that it cannot determine the B-Channel to TN coorelation. With SL1 protocol, the PBX wants to send or receive Explicit Signalling, meaning, When you send me a call, tell me which Interface ID (IID) and which B-channel to set the call up on. When I make a call, I'll tell you where I am sending the call when I make outbound calls.

The bug message is inferring, that Implicit signalling is occuring and the M1 does not know what to do. If you do an DCH trace, you will see something to the effect of
DCH 16 IMSG SETUP REF 0000842F CH 0 TOD 16:39:02 CK 0019DCE0 on inbound, Notice the "CH 0". If you do a full hex dump, there are octets that can be decoded if Implicit or Explicit signalling is being used.

You won't need to go that far however, since we know off the bat that its a protocal issue.

Heres a hint for everyone:
If you see this bug, when you are connecting to a DMS, tell the guy/gal in the CO to add SL1PROFL to table LTDEF.
It looks like this

TABLE LTDEF:
DALLSL1 1 B
PRA 48 48 24 24 NTNAPRI V1 SL1PROFL (NOPMD ) $

I have the user for the nortel and made some change.
I tried with the protocol ESS5 but it didn't work.
Now I have this message on the nortel

PRI227 DCH: 13 DATA: 0000000D CAUSE :IDENT CHAN DOES NOT EXIST
STATE : UNKNOWN

PRI227 DCH: 13 DATA: 0000000D CAUSE :IDENT CHAN DOES NOT EXIST
STATE : UNKNOWN

PRI227 DCH: 13 DATA: 0000000D CAUSE :IDENT CHAN DOES NOT EXIST
STATE : UNKNOWN

I think that is for the protocol.

I don't have QSIG so I can't use any protocol that use qsig.

NI2 is a protocol that use qsig?

Thanks all!

Rhack is correct, youare using the wrong interface types.

You need ESGF as the interface to run Q.SIG

SL-1 is Nortel Proprietary, ESS5 is for talking to AT&T CO's

I was reading some book that explain the use of EURO PRI CARD without QSIG, so I can use the EURO protocol in Nortel M1 and ETSI protocol in AVAYA G3r.
I will try to ask my provider for an EURO PRI card and will check this type of connection.

If any have another idea please tell me.

Thanks

U can use Euro i have tested that and works fine .. but please dont hope to get CNAME transparency between the boxes. Make it a point to Make the Dialing method as OVERLAPED other wise u wont be able to dial the ACOD from AVAYA side.

thanks
