100% PBX Newbie

Hey all.

I am trying to setup CLID on our DIDs

We have 2 different number ranges, one number range can send CLI but the other one doesnt. The new number range is on a separate PRI service, which isnt used for outgoing trunks. The original number range (the one that CLID works with) is used for outgoing trunks.

I have added a CLID entry for the new number range, and modified it to suit, but the switch just sends the ISDN ID number of the outgoing trunk, not even in any CLID entries!!

Help please.

You have to let the phone company now that you are using your CLID table for this number range, so they can adjust at they´r end.

All Trunks Busy condition?

Thanks heaps ICY...

I'm not sure if i was clear enough. We have 2 ISDN services. Both are 2way.
ISDN 1 has number range 9487 9000
ISDN 2 has number range 9473 8000

ISDN 1 is the only outgoing route.

Sets with 8000 exts are sending 94879000, yet i want them to send their DID number
ie. 9473 8000 even though, the outgoing call is being placed on the 9487 9000 service.

Is this possible?

Your inbound DID ranges are delivered on specific trunks, but have nothing to do with outbound calls. That is determined by your NARS BARS routing.

You can send any CLID you want on any trunk from any set. What you need to do is set up CLID tables for each range, then assign phones to the proper table.

With a multiple NXX building, you run the risk if sending the wrong NXX on E911 calls so I always build table 0 to sent the main number. If a tech forgets to specify a CLID table, 0 is assumed by the Meridian. This way you won't mix the NXX's with the wrong range sending the police to Pizza Hut by mistake. Read up on ESA!!! Now to answer you question:

LD 15
CHG NET_DATA
.
.
ISDN YES
CLID YES

Build 3 tables:

Table 0
Sends Main LDN ONLY! No DID Conversion

Table1
Send NXX(1) and setting DIDN = YES will tag the DN after that sending a good NXX-xxxx CLID

Table2
Send NXX(2) and setting DIDN = YES will tag the DN after that sending a good NXX-xxxx CLID

Station programming:

KEY 0 SCR aaaa b
KEY 1 SCR aaaa D

Where aaaa is the DN/Rollover DN
b = the CLID Table number defined in LD 15
Use the Letter D on the rollover keys so the Meridian won;t try to send the rollover DN with the NXX which again would be someone el's number! D means use Default CLID table.

This is a BRIEF overview, read up on ESA programming (and make sure you TEST IT!!!) then read up on CLID's and how they work. There is a ton of documentation and tiops on this subject on the Web. The Meridian platform is one of the most flexible solutions on the market to deal with CLID, but as with anything GARBAGE IN / GARBAGE OUT. There are plenty of folks here that would be happy to look at your proposed configs prior to you implementing them to make sure you are not doing anything too wrong.

Good Luck

Fletch
