Location: USA Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Non-ringing extensions I have a stupid question that I think I already know the answer to. Awhile back there was a lot of talk about the new ITG Line 3.0 software and firmware that came out. We have a lot of ITG Line cards out there running the 2.20.90 software. I went ahead and grabbed the software for 3.0 but noticed the filenames are different and they reference it as an ITG-P card which is what is labeled on my cards but the previous software vers have never made mention of such. I went ahead and on a test card put the new firmware and software on the card. Works fine but of course the prompt is different when you log into the card. All seems to work fine but later I read where it looks like that software is for those that run Succession? Or actually I read that when we upgraded our OTM to v2.0 and saw a Line 3.0 feature that was seperate from the regular ITG stuff. In the book it made mention of special application for the Succession 32 port cards. Is this true? Is it only for Succession or can it be used for Meridian I cards too, the software on the download page makes mention of the M1. And it all upgraded fine I just had to select the filename instead of the usual .MMS filename. Just curious I was not going to put it on any of our in use cards till I knew for sure being as it looks like it changed the cards themselves. I appreciate any input! Chad

Location: NORTEL - Ottawa Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Console Question IP Line 3.0 software is supported on Meridian 1 X11 Release 25.15+ and Succession CSE 1000 Release 1.1+. All functionality is available on CSE 1000 Release 2.0 with less functionality available on the other releases. This software can be loaded on both the ITG-P (Pentium, double-slot, 24 ports) and Succession Media Card (StrongArm, single-slot, 32 ports) hardware. When downloading from the nortelnetworks.com website, you have to specify which hardware platform you are downloading for. The loadware for the ITG-P has a ".p2" filename and the loadware for the SMC has a ".sa" filename.

Location: NORTEL - Ottawa Rep Power: 7 ![]() | ITG Line 3.0 In addition - the firmware on the SMC must be version 6.4 and that on the ITG-P must be version 5.7. Instructions on downloading this firmware and installing are available in the "IP Line 3.0 Readme First Document". From www.nortelnetworks.com, select "Software Downloads" on the left. Select "Advanced Search" on the left. Specify "IP Line 3.0" in the "Search" box, clear all checkmarks other than "Loads, Images,.." and click on "Go".

Location: USA Rep Power: 7 ![]() | NXX 641 not working Alright that is what I needed to know. I noticed when dloading it that it mentioned for the Meridian, and after manually selecting the file to upgrade the software through OTM it loaded fine and came back online fine just noticed the login prompts were different. All seemed to work fine but I have multiple other cards out there and didn't want to load it on them without knowing for sure. So I take that it doesn't give 32 ports for the Meridian? Being is that sounds like from you a special single slot card just for succession. So is there really any true advantage for the new release? Also being as it is 3.0 should I start administrating it through the 3.0 area of OTM or just keep using the regular area for it if it doesn't support the 32 ports? Hehe being as I am such a patient man and this just so happens to be a test card that I have 3.0 on I went ahead and retrieved the info into the Line 3.0 area. And notice the QOS tab. So will start playing with that. Is there any type of instructions or anything that Nortel has released for this version? Thanks again for your help. Thanks for your responses. Location: Missouri Rep Power: 7 ![]() | External forwarding. I just ordered a new Opt. 11c system with a couple of ITG cards from a LARGE national organization yesterday, and they told us that 3.0 wasn't in GA until March. Is this true, and if not, how can we get them to push for the new cards?
