what is the main difference between Meridian System and the Communication Server Systems? is the Communication Server and Advanced version of the Meridian? or are they 2 different systems?

Basically the same system. CS 1000 series are IP enabled with additional hardware. Meridian is a TDM switch. Same base software on the backend though. It's more of branding than anything else, although the IP enabled systems do have some additional components to support the IP side.

Any Meridian can pretty much be upgraded to a CS 1000.
