Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Static on CallPilot Voice Mail???? I am having a problem with static on voice channels (on external and internal callers) and I am not having much luck in tracing it back to its source. So far, I have 6 of my 12 DSPs shut off and the static persists. I guess that I haven't turned off the culprit yet. I was hoping that there would be a tool that would let me see what channel or DSP was being used when a particular message was left. Would Support Tools hold anything of that kind? I am several months in to this process and there has got to be a better way. My vendor has been onsite multiple times and reloaded the languages, reburned the DSPs, and rebooted the entire server all with no positive impact. Do you have any ideas? Could you point me in a direction where I could get some answers, ideas, or help of any kind? Cheers, Rachelle __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club.

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | They are the same and the static is intermittant. That is why it has taken so long to try to find it. I now have 6 of my 12 DSPs turned off and am waiting to see if I get any reports. If I do, then I turn down number 7. If I don't, then I assume it was DSP6 that was the culprit. Thanks for the post. That was really good thinking. rlc __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club.

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | I have a 1002 unit. What is the recommended method for confirming the grounding? It is located in the same room as the PBX. It is on its own circuit from the same panel as the PBX. I don't know how to check this. rlc __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club.

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Vendor just sent an email that says, "We are ordering a replacement card for the DSP's for Callpilot. It is a 96 port card". So, I sent back an message asking, "Okay. What is the part number/model number of the card you are looking to procure? Could you send us a spec for this product? What are you looking to replace or augment? Does this part go in the PBX architecture or the CallPilot itself?" Could anyone here fill in these blanks. The vendor may not respond and I know that Finance and local Management are going to be asking these questions and more.... (i.e. what will be the down time, impact, and what is the thinking behind replacing the 32 port card with a 96? How will that help?) So, anyone have any thoughts on the matter? Location: Chicago -- CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE Rep Power: 10 ![]() | Sorry for the late response. For the ground issue, the server should have a chassis (sp?) ground, which should be connected to the same ground refference as the PBX. No part number in front of me but if you are under warranty take the 96 port card -- which goes into the CP server -- and be happy. If it is on your dime I'd insist on a rationale as to why a like for like replacement is unavailable. Obviously with more capacity you will need licences and TN's/ISM's to utilize. Sounds like they want to replace the existing DSP resources in one go round. System will be down for any where between an hour -- perfect world -- and a day - nightmare situation. If vendor can not provide the info. that you requested -- not to mention a fall back plan -- it surely is time for a new vendor. __________________ Dogs rollover Phones hunt

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Allow me to tickle your minds, Do you have Fax Channels ? Are the fax channels programmed on a different DSP to the voice channels? This has caused me many issues on CP Release 5. Have you re-installed the language packs? To install the language packs you must run the config wizard hence the DSPs get erased and re-programmed. Have fun !

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Worm: Thanks for that. However, we do not use FAX Channels. The languages have been reloaded multiple times as well as just a reburn of the DSPs. Jack: I was unaware of the ground wire needed. I will take a trip to that site and eyeball the system. I don't recall that there was any green wire on it, anywhere. In the meantime, I will be very happy with my new 96 port card. Cheers!!! rachelle __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club.

Location: Sydney Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Everyone is looking at the CP as a source of issue. Have you thought of the MGate card/s? I have only seen a very occasional DSP fault. Face it as well.... to prove a point, I would rather change the MGate..... its a big lift to get a 1002 out of a rack Oz
