MCR (Multiple Call Receiving) question

Howdy, You'uns!

Do any you esteemed PBX'ers know of a way that a secretary can tell if her boss is on the phone, when they both have the same DN on their phones (2616's)? With SCR, of course you can just tell by the little black pyramid pointing toward the extension. Do you know of a workaround, without restricting the extension to only being able to take one call at a time? Thanks,

marcuspolo

Look at the boss/sec. filtering feature, although it does have some potential wierd feature interactions.

Probably easier on Boss' phone Key 0 scr 1234 key 1 scr 4567 LHK 1, make sure that MARP is turned on and set to boss' TN.

On Sec's phone key (whatever is open/unused) SCR 1234 key whatever + 1 Scr 4567.

Now Sec has visual indication of when boss is on phone and a 2nd caller dialing 1234 will ring in on 4567.

If for some unphathonable reason you need more than 2 simultaneous reason add another key (s) & Dn's to both and increase the LHK to reflect the extra key.

Thanks, Jack. I'll check out the boss/secretary filtering stuff, any idea where that is in the NTP's? I had thought of the LHK SCR option, but wanted to try and keep the MCR if possible. Looks like it's a messy propostion, though. Thanks again, Jack!

MCR will not - nor was it designed to -- provide what you are trying to accomplish.

Look thru your Features & Services Guides for the B/S descrition and info.
