Location: Las Vegas, Nevada Rep Power: 6 ![]() | NAM VOICEMAIL Hello There, Any idea why a CDN in SCCS 3.0 would not aquire or deaquire? If I try to Change state or add new or try to deaquire a CDN they just hang there in aquire or deaquire state. Once they are in limbo I am not able to delete them or nothing. They are built in the PBX. I wonder if it is just corruption and time to poke the SCCS in the eye. Any one seen this before if so any ideas? Tedd

Location: Kansas Rep Power: 7 ![]() | INI at start of Mids Hi Trandes, 3.0 was notorious for leaving CDNs in a deacquire/acquire pending state. It is time for a reboot which should clear up the issue and you should be able to Acquire and Deacquire the CDNs once again. 4.0 is much better with this. In fact yesterday was the first time since the upgrade to 4.0 that I experienced the stuck in pending state (It's been a year and a half since we upgraded...I rebooted last night and deacquired and was able to get these out of the pending state). Just an FYI...In LD 23, you can give the command to the PBX to deaquire the CDN, but most likely you will still see the CDN in a pending state in Symposium. POKE IT IN THE EYE!

Location: Kansas Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Changing voice ports to ACCESS ports Tedd, Your welcome...just poked mine last night to fix my deaquire pending problem (and some services that had stopped and couldn't be restarted from the control pannel...showing stopped everywhere but when I tried restarting the service, said it was already started)...This morning, my CDNs still showed pending, but was able to deaquire and they were deaquired... I used to do a preventative reboot once a month on the symposium and it would run much cleaner. I wouldn't see as many errors. I was talking to my vendor and to Nortel and they said that I don't need to boot that often...at most once every 4 to 6 months...Makes me wonder though with the problems that are creeping up...

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Maintenance Vendors FC; When you do your reboots do you just do a restart on the SCCS server or do you do the whole courtesy thing? I was taught by an old PBX Tech that when you need to do reboots to simulate a normal power down to make sure if you were not there that everything would reboot by itself. Reading your descrip it sound like a reboot will do me good then. I also have a Sybase backup server service that won't stay running. I can start it but it stops by itself after a while. Location: Kansas Rep Power: 7 ![]() | PRI to BRI on MICS Tedd, You're welcome. When I do a reboot, I first shut down all the services and then reboot. It is cleanest that way. I just don't believe in tempting fate doing what the old PBX tech suggested. The call center is our bread and butter and we have battery back up and a generator which could last us 3 or 4 days if our power went out so I always courtesy down and then restart the server. thanks FC
