Question Restore Delete Callpilot Messages

Is there a way to restore a delete message from a Callpilot System, after the user has selected to delete the message, and has hangup??

I know that you can restore a message that was already set to be deleted
while listening to the messages, but after can it be done?

If so... how?

Thanks

Nope, once they hang up the phone the message is erased forever.

Unless...

You have an archived copy.

More likely than not more trouble than its worth as all messages will need to be restored and will cause mass confusion to your users.

Actually for security reasons, I have system archiving turned on - all messages "system wide" are send to an exchange email address. I store about 30 days worth and then delete anything older.
1. you need a large storage capacity on the mailbox.
2. you need to evaluate the legalities of archiving everyones voicemail.
3. you need to control access to the archive mailbox.
4. you need to use exchange inbox rules to delete broadcast messages.
5. you still should backup Callpilot regularly.

Archives have saved various butts (including mine) around here on many occasions.
Hope this helps

no it is not deleted forever. it is deleted when the audit runs in the 3am time frame. till then nortel can retrieve it but be ready to fork up the money. like others have said RESTORE from USER ARCHIVE if you didnt create one your SOL get your wallet out

what we do it this
create a weekly SYSTEM BACKUP to overwrite the tape
create a daily USERS ARCHIVE to APPEND the tape
create a weekly APPS archive to APPEND the tape

it will store all on one tape even on a 201I unless youhave a lot of users just watch the USER archive size and that will tell you how many days you can actually store

As WW points out in his point # 2 make sure your company's legal department agrees with message archiving/backups.

They are great for HR & occasionally the Police, but can cause irrepairable damage should a plantiffs lawyer get a hold of them.
