I know that some of you do not like that answer but if you haven't done this before look at as a training experience rather than simply an expense. Stand there with vendor and have them explain exactly what they are doing and why. In the end this can be a win win situation, you get the new hardware installed and you get the knowledge of how to install it. If the vendor is good they should also show you at least basic maintenace on the hardware that you are installing as well.
