Nortel Succession 5.0

We recently upgraded to 5.0 and we have stared experiencing several issues with the 3900 series phones. Our vendor installed all of the current patches at the time of the upgrade.

Our 3905 and 3904 sets are doing some strange things. Our 3905 sets (ACD sets) are having problems dialing between themselves, but not all of the time. If you dial from one 3905 to another, and you do get a busy, it doesn't roll to email, you just get fast busy. We discovered yesterday that there is another 3900 set issue as well. We are a collections company and at times we use calling cards. On the 3900 set (3905 and 3904) you can dial the credit card phone number, enter the credit card's auth code fine, but once you try to enter the long distance phone number, you get a fast busy. It will not let you enter the number you're trying to use the card to call.

We have many different releases of 3900 sets from older to brand new sets, and they all do the same thing. We also tried doing firmware upgrades to see if that would help, and it didn't change anything. Firmware was upgraded to 90 and it's still the same.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Do you get the same results with a 2000 series phone?

We haven't found any issues with the 500 sets. This issue is very strange. We tried a different digital line card today with no change. The calling card issue is very baffling. It acts almost like the PBX is adding digits or changing the dialing scheme. Once you get to the point where you dial the long distance number you're trying to call, it comes back and says you can't dial that number.

Do you get any errors when the CC calls are made?

Well the dialing issues turned out to be nothing to do with the PBX. Turns out thet at&t credit cards are the issue. They require that your CLID be a recognizable number for back billing purposes. That didn't make any sense to us, be ing that we have already paid for the cards so there's nothing that should need to be billed back to our number.

We are still experiencing issues with the 3905 sets on the 5.0 software though.

They are having issues tranferring calls to the 3905 sets and calling from a 3905 to another 3905 will not go through. You get reorder tone. We're going to INI the switch tomorrow morning to see if it clears any of these issues up.
