Question Adding a digital card

Good morning,

I have inherited a very old Meridian Option 11 system at my work and could use some assistance. We are currently examining new phone systems for an upgrade, but in the mean time have decided to try to expand the current system to get us by until the upgrade.

I have acquired a new digital card in order to add some more ports to the system, but am a little unsure as how to go about installing it. I am currently waiting on a cable to attach the card to a block but had some questions first.

From my initial searching on the fine board here it seems like I can add the card to the system and then configure a phone on the card to enable. Is there any other programming that is necessary on the card after installing it in the chassis? Should I power down the whole system before installing the card?

I am afraid I am pretty clueless when it comes to our system. I have figured out how to do adds/moves/changes and understand the difference between analog and digital devices in the system. I have a few manuals here and am not afraid to read what I need to read.

Could anyone out there point me in the right direction? I would be very grateful.

Red face Thanks!

Great thank you, I have to guess the X X X X is just going to be the new slot number and first port number on that card?

Since your system is old and I assume it runs on old software. You have to use Ld 11 for adding the digital line cards and Ld 10 for analog line cards.

Option 11 is small system therefore you only need to program
X X = Card Slot, Unit Number (0-31)
