Remote virtual agents or work at home for big bucks.

There are 2 pbx's. An 81C and a 61C. Both have in and outbound PRI's from the CO. the 81C current primary reference receives timing from the CO. Secondary also from the CO. The 61C primary is also the CO. There are 5 T's, 2 D-channels between each pbx. Should I consider the 81C to be the master and the 61C? Doing so should I set the clocking in the 61C primary source to be one of the T's that tie the twopbx's together?

Let's be sure that I am understanding you....
You have T1 lines from CO to 81C, from 81C to 61C, and from 61C to CO. Is that correct? If so, then I would set the 81C as the master but I would leave the switch timing coming off of the CO T1's. I would set the Primary and secondary clocks to the CO in both PBX's. The T's that connect the two switches need to be set master and user but, your clocking should be uneffected.

This is all MHO. Any other opinions???

Thanks Rachelle, yes that's exactly right. The T's between the PBX's are set for master and user in the config. (side=net/side=user). The 61C's timing has been off somewhat on the T's that tie between the PBX's. (SLIPR -001) is what I see each morning only on the T's that are between each in the 61. I thought if I track the 61 off the 81 the slips would clear?

Problem with Symposium Client... can't connect

I would let the 81 clock off telco and the 61 clock off of the 81 and have the secondary clock of the 61 to telco. we have this configuration on a large number of switches and it works fine. no slips, no nothing

I played with the clocks with all clocks set to a telco PRI and i was getting slips....no alot but slips none the less....especially if both switches are tied to two different CO's
