Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Remote Log-In Happy New Year!!! Sorry to start the new year off with such a challenging question, BUT: From our desk, we want to log into our PBX at a Central location and use an analog port to modem into another PBX in our field office location using pcanywhere. We have a 81c at the Central office and a 11c in the field office. We need to know the sequence of setting up a remote log-in for the field Office. Some staff do not have analog lines at their desk. From those desk and using pcanywhere, How can we log on a PBX (Central Office-- 81c) and activate an analog port to modem into another PBX (11c) in another office. Is this method possible, if not-- could you outline some steps by which this is possible? Big Thanks

If so you can set up a regular PC that is connected to your network at each location and then connect the PC directly to your PBX's through the TTY ports. Then you can use "remote control" from your desktop to connect directly to these PC's. __________________ Dogs have owners, Cats have staff!!!!

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thanks for the Response For Dwatkins: With trepadation I am going to say YES -- the two switches are on the same 10.28.xxx.xxx network yet they are miles apart. For BigWorM: We have OTM and I like your answer! Could you share the steps on set-up? For Werewolf: Not following the PTY set-up. We have pcanywhere and what tag line should I use to search this forum - "remote login" perhaps?

If you get a program like SecureCrt from VanDyke, you can Rlogin (I think that's how OTM works) direct to the switch from any PC on the same network and work the command line interface - even one or more folks at the same time (allowing for overlay conflicts of course). This would also give you the ability to script the command line (Like procomm scripts - only using Jscript or Vbscript), if that's something you are interested in also....All this is not difficult to do, but there is a slight learning curve - I think you'll find it to be a great interface, once you get it set up properly. Here is one thread that has a lot of info - just skip the stuff where they are talking about a IP serial server - you'll learn how to rlogin properly. http://www.pbxinfo.com/meridian-syst...t-pbx-61c.html You can use PuTTY software (google for it) which is free, but a program like SecureCRT has alot more features. You can also search the forum on "rlogin" Hope this helps... Wherewolf Last edited by WhereWolf; January 17th, 2008 at 12:59 PM.
