Nortel to Cisco 2821 in a Trunk Group

Hey all,

I usually answer the cisco forum and I already am working my Cisco contacts but wanted to bounce this off you guys for some help.

I have a client who has an existing T1 between their Nortel and my Cisco 2821 router. It's been working for months and now they want to add a second T1. On the Nortel they added it already and tested it with my existing port by swapping cables and that worked. but when I added more gear and added it to my config (with the same config as before) it did not work. Here is what I posted to the Cisco forum. Let me know if you can help, thanks.

********************************

My situation is this:
1 Existing T1 between Nortel and 2821 with the following config:
controller T1 0/0/0
framing esf
linecode b8zs
ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-24 type e&m-wink-start
cas-custom 0
trunk-group PBX timeslots 1-24
description PBX Connection

This is a working T1. My client wants to add a second T1 and describes the Nortel set-up like this:
The PBX is now setup as 48 channels, not 24. So..even though we have 2 separate T1’s (loop4 and loop5) they are all stuck in 1 route and each assigned a channel 1-48.

We added a second T1 with the following commands:
controller T1 0/1/0
framing esf
linecode b8zs
ds0-group 1 timeslots 1-24 type e&m-wink-start
cas-custom 1
trunk-group PBX timeslots 1-24
description PBX Connection

The calls started to fail after the 1st call. Our window closed before we could do some real troubleshooting on this part of the config so I have to get another window to make changes but I wanted some feedback since I have not used the "cas-custom" command with the "trunk-group" subcommand.

Does anyone have experience with this?

thanks
