Location: St. Louis, MO Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Remote alarm for electrical cut I am only using 12 channels of a T1 for one of my local T1's. I recently found out that we are paying for the whole T1 and I want to use all 24 channels. LD 60 tells me channels 13 thru 24 are 'UNEQ'. How do I go about 'opening up' those last 12 channels? Is there some kind of procedure somewhere I can follow? Do I need to 'out' that loop first before rebuilding it with 24 channels? I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Location: Missouri Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Comments on use of Distant Steering Code? Before you do this check with the provider on the other end to make sure the remaining channels are really provisioned on their equipment before you do this. Otherwise, you may be getting calls about problems calling out from your users until the channels go into lockout. Many T-1 based digital trunking services have multiple elements to their pricing. I know on my ISDN PRI there is a span change and a per channel charge. On one of my spans, I only provision 20 B channels (trunking study said I probably only needed 43 trunks). I save $540 per year on this span not provisioning channels that I don't need ($15 * 3 * 12).
