Fiber Remote Question

Hi Guys,

we are running op11c rls 21, 3 cabinets.

I was talking to our normal telco tech and he said we could not do fiber remote with the op11c, we would need a newer system.

I was finding this a little hard to believe and called a different tech, and he said that we probably could do it... although rls 21 is old.

so is this possible? do we really need a newer system?

I don't know of a "Fiber Remote" for an Option 11c - You can expand to another cabinet with fiber, using the proper fiber cards - I think they can go up to 3 KM - I would guess that the the SSC card vintage would be the critical point in order to accept the fiber card....I'll try to get some more info...Try this http://www142.nortelnetworks.com/tec...f/NR49WZ69.pdf

If your on Release 21, then it's a Option 11E. Option 11c came out with release 22.

You must have a NTDK20 SSC card to support Fiber Remote.

Release 21 only supports 2 expansion Cabinets (LOCAL).

Only option for a Remote cabinet would be Mini Carrier Remote.
