PABX Protection

Hi there.
May I ask, what is the ideal set-up for telecommunication to be protected from lightning, power fluctuations and other sort of abnormalities.
Is there a way we could minimize downtime?
Any advice would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you.

May i ask what could possibly be the standard rating of the grounding system?
Is it advisable to have a separate grounding for telecommunications and network equipments?
Thanks!

Your best bet is to contact your vendor and have them do a power/ground audit. Buildings change, and sometimes so do your ground protections. Better to err on the side of caution than to find out after a storm because of bad or improper grounding you lost 3 shelves in your switch.

Do you have your switch on a large UPS? They will condition alot of the fluctuations, but as Pbxn stated, your vendor should be able to assist, or you may even request another vendor to evaluate what you have since you had issues already from the installing vendor.

thanks!
i would probably implement the one you call cu conductors.
my concern is that we have a delta config grounding system an online ups but our cards still went crazy, 1 of our cards eventually was totally damaged after 2 days of the initial breakdown. i was kinda frustrated for this equipment is just about 4 months old.
