Question Moving phones from remote Meridian 11C to main Meridian 51C

I would be very grateful for a little help from any Meridian 1 Option 11C/51C experts out there. I am a bit of a newcomer to the Meridian 1 system.

We have a main office with an Option 51C and four remote offices with 11Cs, connected to the 51C using 2Mbit/s Network Cards.

One of the remote offices is closing and the staff are being relocated to the main office. Users at remote offices are connected to the 11C on analogue line cards (16 ports per card - labelled 'FALC').

What we really need to do is to move each user, one by one, off the trunk link (Extension numbers 3201 to 3299) onto a free port on one of the existing analogue line cards in the main 51C - BUT retaining the same extension numbers. (The phones at head office use Ext 2201 upwards)

Can anyone help me with the commands that might enable me to perform this transfer, one phone at a time? (Or is there a guide I can lay my hands on???)

Or would it be better to delete each phone and just add new phones on the main 51C?

What I am worried about is that calls might still be routed onto the old trunk links rather than to the newly configured analogue ports? Could anyone help tell me how the necessary routing changes can be made?

best regards

Telecomic_Bob

A lot of it depends on how your system is setup.

Let's start by figuring out how the calls are being handed off to the 11, chances are good that this is being done by CDP in the 51. (LD 87)

As slag stated, determine where your extension are based from. I agree they are probably already in your 51c. Print the DN range you stated in the post above and post.
