Question Voice media gateway

Hi all,

My succession 1000m manage both digital and IP pnones. At times the IP phones would show up with server unreachable and the solution for this is to reboot the phone or go into the setup of the phone and just simply say ok to all the previous settings, as though you are setting up the phone for the first time. The other issue is, when trying to get an outside line on the IP phones, you would get release and try again. This however is ok with the digital phones but the digital phones cannot talk to the IP phones or incoming call cannot be transfer to the IP phones. The solution for this so far is to reboot the PBX. I rebooted the signal server and reseat the media gateway card but that didn't rectified the problem.

Any advise on this will be appreciated.

Thanks

Is this a new Install?
Is the PBX patched up to date
Is the sig server patched up to do date?
Is the Media Card patched upto Date?
What version of firmware are you running on the IP phones?

Do you recieve any BUG or SCH messages when this problem occurs?

Thank you all, for the suggestions. The sysetm was installed about 1year ago but the problem starts from day one but is an intermittant one. In the case of the message on the ip phones (server unreachable) this doesn't happens to all the IP phones but it is a random thing.
I will check on all the patches first thing and see how that goes.

Thanks Folks

it actually sounds like you have more than one problem here. With the IP sets not being able to dial out or dial a digital set sounds like a lack of DSP's on your media cards. How many do you have? How many ports are on them? How many IP sets do you have?
