building a dn from scratch

before i ask for help i want to let everyone know a lil about me. this is my first post. i am a telecom tech and i work on the meridian option 11 and 81c. i have not had any formal training just on the job training and im looking to expand my knowledge.
now heres whats going on.....
im having a problem changing from an analog tn to digital, from a 500 series to a 3903. i thought that i could copy a 3904 and changed the dn and have it work. im thinking i need to have it assignd as a 3903 which is the phone set being used, and there are no 3903's on this site. since all i have been taught really is how to copy i am now faced with a challenge and i tried reading the "manual" and its a little confusing to me. can someone please post or link some info on how to build a phone from scratch or if the 3900 series are interchangeable. any help is appreciated. if it means anything i am going to get trained soon at the nortel school so i will be able to return the help.

the 3900s are not interchangeable for programming although, you can install a 3903/4 onto a TN that is programmed for the other type and you will get DN information and be able to draw dial tone and call in/out. To program a 3903. easiset from L20. You could print the 3904 you have in your PBX and follow most all of the prompts. They only difference will be the KBA/DBA prompt and the number of keys.

TN for digital and analog sets are on different types of cards.
If you are making a 3904 set you set it up as type 3904.
If you are making a 3903 set you set it up as type 3903.
You can not copy a 3903 and then make it a 3904 or the other way around.
If you don´t have a template you have to build it from schratch.
