Lightbulb Troubleshooting Tips

Since we all have had a failure I am sure once in our lives I think a quick check list for troubleshooting wouldn't be a bad idea.

Post your favorite diagnostic commands for troubleshooting issues.

Let me know what model of PBX and the commands that you like. I'll compile them and make a quick PDF so we can pin it up beside our desks.

Who knows we may save someone a service call.

I guess it depends on what aspect of the system one is troubleshooting; since I work mostly with networking / dialing translation I'm a big fan of the DCH message monitor (MSGI / MSGO with MSG flags) , CLIDVER, and the ld 80 trace routines. (The ENTC commands are the ones I use the most there)

Of course rls 5 is full of new commands in the above overlays...

Justzikle, what do you need to know about BARS/NARS? Have you gone to http://www.ghtrout.com and check out Gene's BARS/NARS 101 documentation? That is a good starting point if you haven't been to class yet.
