PRI Question.

We have a Tie route going to a special application ( Polycom Conference Bridge). The interface is D-100 ( recommended by vendor). When the bridge outcalls to a person needed in the conference the local carrier is not sending out the CLID. On DCH messaging we are sending out a valid CLID but the number plan is being flagged as unknown.

1. Outbound Polycom Conference call, CLID is not given to called person (Cinglur Telephone)

notes: DCH 8 is PRI to Polycom conference bridge (D100 and Tie route configuration). DCH 1 is PRI to Verizon (for local calls)

DCH 8 IMSG SETUP REF 00008C00 CH 25 11 TOD 13:55:39
CALLING #:4433943100 NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN
CALLED #:84102450178 NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN

DCH 1 OMSG SETUP REF 00000021 CH 28 9 TOD 13:55:39

DCH 1 IMSG PROGRESS REF 00000021 CH 28 9 TOD 13:55:39
PROGRESS: INBAND INFO OR PATTERN IS AVAIL

2. Outbound (from extension) telephone call, CLID does work

Flexible Call Forward

Twisted, beat on your polycom provider. They have to provide the clid and numb plan info. They wanted to make it PRI, so tell them to signal accordingly.

Ringing Phone without functions

Your T1 in your PBX may be just fine. It may be a configuration issue with the Polycom itself not allowing the CLID to pass through. Verify your Polycom settings.

Help with determining trunk route type

Jim-

The problem is that the Ploycom is generating the setup message with the CALLING NUMBER Information Element (IE) flagged as Unknown. This has nothing to do with your Meridian programming.

In 25.40, Nortel added the CTON prompt to the RDB which lets you define the Type of Number (TON) to assign to the CALLING NUMBER IE. Unfortunately this is only available on EuroISDN routes, it won't help you on D-100.

You need to go to Polycom, and tell them that they need to assign both the NUMBER PLAN TYPE nad TYPE OF NUMBER IE's on their outbound messaging. They are notorious for doing this on their GateKeeper's as well.

Hope this answers your question.

Wanna push their buttons further?

DCH 8 IMSG SETUP REF 00008C00 CH 25 11 TOD 13:55:39
CALLING #:4433943100 NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN
CALLED #:84102450178 NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN

If they sent the CALLED number TYPE OF NUMBER and NUMBER PLAN inofrmaion as a PUBLIC E.164, then you could turn on INAC on the RDB as well, and the user wouldn't have to dial the "8", and they would not have to send it either.

When this is all fixed, the DCH Message will look like this:

DCH 8 IMSG SETUP REF 00008C00 CH 25 11 TOD 13:55:39
CALLING #:4433943100 NUM PLAN: E164
CALLED #:4102450178 NUM PLAN: E164 <----Assuming INAC is on

Then if you ever change AC1, the Polycom doesn't even need to know about it.
Clean config.
Minimal Problems.
Happy Campers!
Easy to understand once broken down!

PRI Question.

SO......

Now which one of you can tell me why:

DCH 8 IMSG SETUP REF 00008C00 CH 25 11 TOD 13:55:39
CALLING #:4433943100 NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN
CALLED #:84102450178 NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN

Comming from the TIE line gets changed to:

DCH 1 OMSG SETUP REF 00000021 CH 28 9 TOD 13:55:39
CALLING #:4433943100 NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN
CALLED #:4102450178 NUM PLAN: E164 <----Gee, this looks familiar!

Going out the PRI to the PSTN???
