Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | AUTHORIZATION CODE IN NETWORK HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!! When I came in today I had the following message: "A request came in regarding a dead phone that rings. When I went over to check the phone out, it was in fact the case. If you called the phone it would ring, but when you answered the phone you would hear the ring in your ear and you couldn't make outbound calls. I changed out the phone, mount cord and connector and the phone still continued to have the same problems. I traced the problem all the way back to the RPE room in 60D. When I plugged directly into the Tn the problem continued to exist. I had Susan switch the TNs and this solved my problem. I wanted to make everyone aware of this problem and since you are the TN Guru I thought you might know what caused this problem. The TN is currently marked with orange tape." The line is apparently an analog set. Could this be a loose wire in the patch panel that leads back to the RPE? rachelle __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club.

Location: Arizona Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Opt 11E RUN AMUCK! I experienced something similar that turned out to be a rather silly mistake on my part. I built a new analog TN and mistakenly punched down the phone jack to TIP on the new TN and RING on a different analog TN just below it, which was already built and had a phone on it. The result was "entertaining". :stooges:

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | PRI Question. I haven't actually gone on site for this issue. Another tech had the service call last Friday and they resolved the user's issue by having the phone assigned to a new TN. They marked the original TN with tape and then sent me the message posted earlier. I am contemplating building a set on this troubled TN just to see if it will still act up. I think that maybe there is a loose connection in the patch panel or a miswire as described by Freddog. It could just as easily be a bad TN. Afterall, the phone worked just fine the day before the service call came in and suddenly stopped working. Thanks rachelle __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club.

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Call Pilot 150 Call Center When I built the new phone on the reported 'bad' TN it functioned perfectly. It rang you could answer it, you could place calls, it was fine. I did find another TN on that card that had been flagged by a field tech but never reported. It will place calls but it can't receive a ring tone. All cables look good. It could be the port on the card I suppose. Anyway, thanks for the sounding board. rachelle __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club.
