Traffic on a T1

Is there a way to know how many ports/channels are in use on a T1.

At the office we only have 1-T1 and sometimes people complain
that they cannot reach us. I would like to check what is the usage of the T1.

Thanks

LD 60
STAT XX XX being the loop or T1
or just STAT and you will get all the T1s in your system

This is what traffic reports are for - look in LD2.

Also familiarize yourself with CCS (Centi Call Seconds) as that is the measurement used by the system to show trunk (and loop) traffic per hour - to make life easier the system also gives ATB (all trunks busy) info as a part of the traffic report.

If you have TM, then it too will gather your traffic data and give it to you in a more readable format than the LD 2, hourly stuff, that is pumped straight out of the PBX.

It seemed like there was a little used prompt that would show the date or number of days since a channel was last used. Maybe someone here will remember. I will try to look it up and get back to you.

LD 36 LDIC c r (Customer - Route)

The lazy mans way out is to call your carrier and order a busy study on your trunk group - generally they don't provide historical data but can monitor the trunk group for a period of time and provide you with a report of the number (and TOD) of ATB and how many calls were blocked during ATB.
