someone, here, sent this to me a long time ago.

SLIPS: imperfect timing conditions may force network equipment to replicate or delete data in a process called a frame slip. Slips are divided into tow categories. Controlled slips replicate or delete a complete 192-bit frame of data, but do not cause any problems with the T1 path. Uncontrolled slips, which are also called change of frame alignment (COFA) events, are much more severe because they disrupt the framing pattern. Controlled slips are the more benign of the two because the path remains available. Uncontrolled slips indicate more severe problems with the circuit.

thanks for the info!!

From what I can gather, If there are too many errors it will disable the loop. I then have to go in ld 96 disable the D channel then back to LD 60 and enable the loop again. All is fine till we start getting a high number of errors

Look at your DDB settings in LD 73 when these thresholds are exceeded your loop will disable.

Obviously you really need to get the reason that you are getting these errors in the first place and correct that

Most of the time issues with clocking will cause SLIPs; these issues usually have little to do with the PBX and everything to do with the T-1 transport.

It has been my expierence that various types of T-1 over IP equipment and even certain ATM transports have a hard time with accuratly regenerating a clock signal and wreak havoc on systems that rely on accurate clocking.

That could be a problem. We are currently trying to run a VOIP system
basically directing certain dns from an 11C switch to a PRI card in our 61C that is connected to a VOIP call manager. I'm sure this is not the propper way by of doing this it works but as you can see we are having errors.
By using LD87 changing the DSC and RLI

slips

find out where your are deriving your timing source, if you are on local time, this will cause slips. you should be on loop time somtimes called recovered timing.. good luck

ive seen on many occasions.. that the t1 itself has imperfect timing sequence. Just putting a CSU inline will act as a buffer and the errors will stop..

something to try if u dont have a csu already on it
