2250 Console wiring - PBX Info :: Your Free PBX, PABX and Telephone Information Resource

I need to move my 2250 Attendant console to a new location and had some questions regarding wiring this. Currently, I have a 25 pair cable from the console to the MDF with a 66 block for crossconnecting the console to the TNs.

Since in my case I only use 5 pair, can I have my telecom wiring person just run a 6 pair cable and wire up an 50 pin amphenol connector with the correct pinning? Are there any issues with having these TNs running in a cable along with other lines and sets? I want to feed the new console location out of one of my telephone closets that I have spare pairs in its cable.

Also, does anyone know what gender the 50 pin connector needs?

You would need at least an 8 pair Cable - I'll do my best to represent the cabling scheme.

Mandatory Connections

(W/Bl) ----------Tip 0
(Bl/W) ----------Ring 0
(W/O) ----------Signal 0
(O/W) ----------Signal 0
(W/Br) ----------Tip 1
(Br/W) ----------Ring 1
(W/S) ----------Signal 1
(S/W) ----------Signal 1
(R/O) ----------Tip 2
(O/R) ----------Ring 2
(R/G) ----------Signal 2
(G/R) ----------Signal 2
(Br/R) ----------Tip 3
(R/Br) ----------Ring 3
(S/R) ----------Signal 3
(R/S) ----------Signal 3

Secondly - You would need to have a Female connector.
