Moving extensions from Nortel M2008 to M2616 phones

I am new to PBX administration Move Adds and Changes but I am very well verse on the physical cross connect changes .I would like to learn how to make a software changes of moving an extension using the "Load" command and this is my first apportunity to do so.
1. The work to be done is to move 3 (users) M2008 extensions to 3 locations where 3 M2616 extensions currently exist. So the M2008 users will now be using M2616 (with Speaker phone capabilities).
2.The extensions that are currently on the M2616 should be moved to the M2008 which will be spare phones. So this is basically a switch of phone extension as the moment.
I would like to know the best way to go about it.Once I've complete a move of swapping 2 of the extensions, the other 2 moves should be straight foward based on DN,TN etc.
Your help is much appreciated..

You might do better asking this in the Nortel Forum Here.

Print your M2008s in LD 20. Then just take the 2008 out and rebuild as M2616s on the same TNs. Remember to add CLS-HFA. Easy as pie.

I would just move the DN's if they are just swapping over.

All you need to do is use a DN that is not already allocated to anything and change the first telephone's Key 0 SCR to that number.

The second one to the number you have just freed and so on until you have all but the phone you started with, with the correct number and one spare, then just change that one's key 0 back from the spare DN you alloacted to the one it should be.

Hope that's clear, if not let me know. Ja9

its easy if you move all the set just print the tn of each one then take a free digital tn and use it as a space to move each phone set.

REQ: chg
TYPE: 2616
TN X X X X
ECHG yes
ITEM key 0 scr -- presuming you want the phone to ring -- xxxx y (x = ext #)
(y = whatever Clid table you need, defaults to 0)
KEY 1 scr xxxx D -- D tells system to look down to find a key with a defined CLID table and use that info.
Continue if there are any additional keys to change and repeat on each set.

When you are done and have tested everything make sure to do a backup

And just wait or go get some coffee

Just confirming, the users are moving locations to the M2616 sets. If that is the case follow Jack's instructions and you are done.

If the users are not moving and you are relocating the M2616's to them the programming is the same and add 6 move commands or 6 cross connects. Your choice on that one.

Print the TNB's of each phone so you have something to look at if you screwup. Then just change the DN's on each phone.
