Rep Power: 0  Country:  | two-way hotline key Hi all. I just found this forum and you all seem to be very knowledgable. Hopefully you can answer my question. I am working with CS1000 system and 1140E phones. I have some users who require a hotline with which person A can call person B and vise versa using only the one set of keys (one key on each phone set). For example: HOTLINE 1 ----> HOTLINE 2 HOTLINE 2 ----> HOTLINE 1 My switch tech and I have tried numerous things, mostly trying to figure out the instructions from the feature guide. We got as far as having one hotline key on each phone that can dial a DN on the opposite phone...but not the DN of the desired desitination hotline key (just another DN set up on the destination phone). We also tried, as per the feature guide, setting up the HOTLINE L using the speed dial list, but that didn't work either. I work in a health care office and the doctor needs to "hotline" his secretaries and have them be able to "hotline" him using only one pair of keys per phone set per doctor/secretary. Let me know if I need to provide other info and I'll get it from the switch tech. Thanks. | ||||||||

Rep Power: 0 Country: | Already know ADL and DIG We already know all about Autodials and Dial Intercom Groups. Neither do what we require. My question is specific to the "Two-way Hotline"..or maybe it is "hotkey" feature mentioned in the feature guide. I'm pretty sure it does what we want, we just can't figure out how to set it up correctly. | ||||||||

Rep Power: 11 Gender:  Country:  | Try this feature Voice Call Voice Call allows you to talk through the speaker of a Meridian digital telephone from another Meridian digital telephone. The called party does not have to lift the handset to hear you. For a two-way conversation, the called party must lift the handset or activate Handsfree, unless Handsfree Voice Call is enabled. If the called telephone is busy on another DN, the caller hears continuous ringing. The called party hears a single beep and the Voice Call DN key flashes. If the telephone is busy on the Voice Call DN, the caller hears a busy tone. A fast busy tone may indicate that the Voice Call DN is no longer available (it may not be a Single Appearance DN). Handsfree Voice Call Handsfree Voice Call is an X11 Release 19 system feature that can be used with such telephones as the M2112, M2317, and M2616. Handsfree Voice Call provides the option of configuring VCC/DIG (with voice option) to be answered in either Handsfree mode or loudspeaker only mode. Calls answered in Handsfree (HVA) mode establish a two-way voice path, while those answered in loudspeaker only (HVD) mode establish a one-way voice path from the calling telephone to the destination telephone. Introduced in X11 Release: All North America Page 1896 of 1918 Voice Call 553-3001-305 Standard 15.00 June 1999 Operating parameters Both telephones must be Meridian digital telephones. The Voice Call DN must be single appearance. Handsfree Voice Call allowed/denied is set at the system level and can only be used with digital telephones that have Handsfree capabilities (such as the M2112, M2317, M2616). It requires Handsfree Allowed/HFA Class of Service on the destination telephone, which is set at the telephone level. Basic Rate Interface (BRI), M3000, and SL-1 telephones do not support the Handsfree feature. Feature interactions Auto Answer Back (AAB) This feature is not affected by the Handsfree Voice Call feature. Flexible Voice/Data Terminal Number If a dynamic TN has a single appearance DN key that terminates on a Voice Call (VCC) key, the called party hears a single beep if occupied on another DN. However, if the called party is a dynamic TN in data mode, the DN key lamp flashes. A beep is not provided. Manual Signaling The same DN can be used for both Voice Call and Manual Signaling (Buzz) as long as it remains a Single Appearance DN. Multiple Appearance DNs If a Voice Call DN is added to a second telephone, the DN becomes a Multiple Appearance DN (MADN). Voice Call no longer works on that DN and fast busy tone is returned. Feature packaging Voice Call requires the Optional Features (OPTF) package 1. Handsfree Voice Call requires X11 Release 19 or later.
