My company is looking into upgrading from Call Pilot 1.7 to 2.0. Anyone out there have any tales they want to tell about their upgrade? I'm looking for possible pitfalls, problems, etc. so that I have an idea what to look forward to (or dread, rather), but if you've had a good experience, please feel free to share that, too.

I experienced the complete loss of a system during a 1.07 to 2.0 upgrade, resulting in a 4 day VM outage. 'Nuff said.

Upgrades to CallPilot 2.0 are still being handled on an exception basis (if absolutely required, contact your channel who have a procedure for working directly with Nortel) pending release of a software upissue within the next month or so.

Modem Setup

My failed upgrade was done in the first week of February, before the Nortel bulletin had received much notice.

I had other issues with my vendor on this project, one of the larger Nortel distributors. What burned me is that the one person in their office that had gone to class in Richardson on the update decided at the last minute that he wasn't coming on-site and assigned the upgrade to two other techs in the TAC.
