I can't remember the last time I had a problem with a PRI, I'm getting a Red alarm and when I stat the PRI it shows all the channels DISABLED. any ideas? I disabled the DCH in LD 96 then disabled the PRI loop in LD 60, then enabled the loop and enabled the DCH. now they show MSBY. Is the RED alarm my problem or is it Bell South?

Thanks for any help

Just Stated PRI again and now all channels are in LCKO and the RED alarm is out, alarm status is normal.

A small survey

install a loop back plug in the circuit at the point of the Telco..if the circuit comes up but in Main busy state then most likely it's your telco.

Was the circuit working?
Report it to telco and they can do a loopback. as long as no one is dispatched you will not be charged.

Pbx tech can make $$$$$$$$$$$$

red alarms are 99% of the time a telco problem. red alarm means that the circuit is not recieving info. from the far end. I'd also check the telco smart jack to see what state its in.

RED ALARM
The signal is not being recieved at the local end. The switch then TRANSMITS a YELLOW alarm towards the far end.

YELLOW ALARM
The far end is SENDING you a signal saying they do not see you. BUT obviously you are seeing them, because you see the YELLOW signal they are sending!

Sooooo......
YELLOW or RED meaning "Them" or "You" is really not applicable.

The alarms mean specific states of the DS1. You have to look at the alarm, and look at your test proceedures, and using that information formulate your results.

TMDI (Evil) problems

Is your PRI card a TMDI? From experience I have found that when TMDIs take a hit on the span, they don't like to come back up.

Check out the telco smartjack for any alarm lights, or if the lights don't match other demarks. This is another good way to figure out if its your problem or the telco.

If it is a TMDI, try disabling it in LD 96 then reenabling the card with the FDL option. Th
