PANASONIC MANUAL LINK

We have a relatively new 11c with both digital and analog cards. This past weekend, one of the analog ports seems to have gone "ka-put". From what I could tell, we seemed to be getting 60 hz mixed with dial tone. The 60 hz seemed to be louder than the dial tone. We swapped to another port. A few questions:

- Should I be concerned about the whole card going bad versus just a single port?

- Are these cards repairable?

- Are the cards modular? In otherwords, did Nortel provide a way to replace descrete components on the card to restore them or did Nortel plan on them being disposable?

phones disabeling at midnight

Individual ports going bad is common.

No user servicable parts on the card.

If the system is still under warranty have vendor replace card at NO CHARGE.

Remember either reseating or replacing will effect all of the ports on the card.

You can reseat the card, but like jack says if itīs still under warranty than have your vendor replace it. Itīs very annoing to have a bad port on your card, because you have to remember it being bad, since you get no warning about it later when you trie to install a set on that port.

A little trick that I do is 'tag' the unit as bad. What I mean by this is create a bogus TN something that is not in your DID range and lable the DES as 'BAD SET' or something like that, that way when you print or list or even try to build. You will then be able to tell if ti is bad.
